rains in Costa Rica are causing serious problems with rare books in the basement of the library

The Costa Rican national library has lost over twenty five thousand rare books and newspapers, some of which date back to the sixteen hundreds, that could very well be damaged by the moisture caused from the recent rains which flooded the basement of the library.

Experts claim that the level of moisture could indeed harm the rare items.

This is unbelievable, a flood would always damage books and therefor it would only make sense to keep these volumes at an elevated level to avoid having severe occurrences such as these.
